mulching kit performance on Toro timecutter zero turn mower

hi all
my first post hee
I have a Toro timecutter SS5000--50" cut zero turn mower. I have seen a mulching kit available at around $170 or so--which includes 3 "gator" type mulching blades and some baffles. I want to try and mulch my leaves this year --and have about an acre in grass/leaves.
Seeking comments / opinions on this kit and if it's a worthwhile buy. I believe I read that it isn't effective unless one sets the cutting height at 2" or so (which I don't want to and would not do--ever set it that low)

Looking forward to your feedback

thanks dave

Mulching decks are sensative to the deck height.
The actual height depends upon the type of grass , the blades , and the air flow under the deck.
Two inches is generally the lowest height you can cut to and have the mulching work properly.

Thanks--I have fescue. I think cutting to 2" any time of the year is far too short. Maybe I'm wrong?
