MTD/Yardman 13an682g731 deck reattachment

I had to drop the deck on my riding mower and now in reinstalling it cannot figure out where the end that does not have a cotter pin fits into. It attaches to the front of the deck in the middle. I found it just lying in the grass where I took the deck off yesterday. It must have been attached to something under the mower, but if it was why did it fall off? Thanks

I was mistaken. It is one of the side hangers, not the middle one. I can see how the one end, if rotated somewhat, might fit into an oval slightly squared off hole. I shall investigate this morning.
