MTD Mower Stalls

Hi all,

I have an MTD lawn mower that starts but then stalls once the fuel is used from the bowl. This happens three or four times before the engine continues to run.

I have replaced the carb already and it didn't solve this problem (mower runs better though).

Ideas?

Thanks,
Evan

Needs more info the mower and the engine it has. It sounds like fuel flow problem.

Like star said we'll need more info (engine model number), but in the mean time, try running it with the gas cap loose, the tank may not be venting properly to continue the flow.

I tried it with the cap loose, no improvement.

Do you have gas in the tank? Don't laugh, I know......
Handlebar kill lever not causing this?
Clean the carb or get a new OEM carb.

Yes to gas. Kill lever not causing it.

I did replace the carb.

pull the fuel line off and check the fuel flow.
It should be full size of the fuel line.
If not you have a blockage between the tank cap & the carb
