I have a craftsman lawn mower 6.5 hp it will run maybe 45 second then loses power and dies smoke comes out the carburetor and will not restart until cools down is this a head gasket problem??

I would first check and make sure I was getting spark at the plug. Sometimes the coil goes bad when hot, also disconnect the kill wire from the coil and make sure it is not grounding out the coil.
