Mower won’t Drive!

I was cutting the grass, the mower stopped and will not move and inch. I’ve been checking everything (without taking anything apart) and all I can come up with is. The drive belt is very loose, there is no feed back when it is shifted into gear. Does the mower sense that the belt is loose and doesn’t drive, or is my transmission gone-out or something else?

Assuming you have a riding lawn mower, more than likely the drive belt hopped of a tensioner pulley.
Look for the model number under the seat, most likely. And we can give you a better solution.

The belt appears to be on, it’s just loose as heck. I think it’s on both pulleys too!

As in both pulleys, you mean the 2 small pulleys, correct?
Check to be sure the long belt is still on the engine and trans pulley
If it's not hydrostatic trans, there is usually another secondary drive belt on the transmission, it's possible it could have hopped off or broke.

I really do not want to appear as a smart a*se or aggressive
But considering the vast variety of mowers & drives out there how the hell do you expect anyone to give you a meaning full answer from the information provided ?

Under the seat should be a tag with a make model & serial number
It would be really nice if you posted them so we had some sort of idea about what we are looking at .
