That's a great find. I'm on the trail of a 1983 Lawn-Boy with a broken recoil starter that's selling for $25 (CraigsList). The model overlaps a lot of parts with another LB that I have so, at that price, it's a bargain as a parts mower. The only trouble is that he doesn't have all the stuff that goes with it in one location so, to get ALL the stuff, I have to wait and risk losing the deal since I'll be out of town over the weekend.

I've been thinking about cutting back on my mower acquisitions but this is too good a deal to pass up.

I think I remember you saying that you had to cut back because of space considerations. With tractor-type mowers (heavy and large) I can see how space (and handling) could be quite a challenge.

If you remember, please pass on this message from me to the Vietnam vet: Thank you for your service.

That outboard motor looks really old. Could it be as old as the 1950s? If so, there might be some collectors who would be interested.

I like the look of it. If you had a classic looking wooden boat it would look nice in combination with this engine.

this is not helping my affliction!...the outboard is really cool...its all cast aluminum....now i have to recalibrate my mower reduction:confused2:....................After surviving 3 tours then to have the chemicals take you out ....its just wrong...ive known so many vets with conditions....the gov'nt didnt even acknowledge it till the late eighties...it sucks....but im hoping for the best for him [find a kidney donor soon]

:eek:It looks like you hit yet another uh, jackpot!:licking::cool::biggrin:
That Mercury outboard is from the 1950s, my best guess is 1956 or '57. As if you don't have enough to pursue, check out www.vintageoutboards.com, they carry reproduction decals, parts for all that ol' stuff, and if I remember correctly, have a place in there that has all the stuff broken out by serial number, and a date of manufacture. So many projects and things to learn, so little time on this planet...:frown: Best thoughts and prayers to your friend with the health complications from ingesting the Agent Orange.

Did I miss something? There is a picture of a motorcycle that looks like it's worth more than everything else put together. You didn't get that with the 250$ did you?
I think the outboard is worth more dead than alive. See how it cleans up and make it a conversation piece or sell it to an outboard shop. They like to have them sitting in the show room. Parts for those outboards are really high if they are available. The water pump impeller is the first thing to check, but I'm sure you know that if you worked in that field.
Congratulations....I think:biggrin: you're gonna be busy now. Make some more videos!
