I plan on getting a cat or two, just in case I run into a rodent problem. But if I need extra enforcement I'll remember this pepperoni tip.

Thanks

I don't have much luck with peanut butter but I do with pepperoni. For some reason I catch more mice with the pepperoni. I think it's because the mice have to pull harder to get the pepperoni out of the trap and then it snaps!

Bought this 2165 cheap. It wouldn't start because mice ate the wiring.

My mouse trap is a 5 gallon bucket. I insert a hard wire such as a coat hanger through an empty soft drink can. I put some peanut butter on the can and then place the wire and can on the top lip of the bucket. It works best to put 2 small indentations on the lip to keep the can centered on the bucket. Fill the bucket half full of water or windshield washing fluid in the winter. Place a small board on the edge of the bucket to the floor for the mice to crawl up to the top of the bucket. They jump to get on the can with the peanut butter and it rolls them off the can and into the bucket. I have found as many as 3 mice in the bucket at a time.

If you crumple aluminum foil and shove it in things it will deter rodents, my dad used to do it all the time, not sure why it works, guess they don't like the taste or feel.
