Motor goes from full power to half or less

When the engine is hot at no warning it will drop to half or less power. After 1 to 3 minutes it jumps back to full power. In mowing 3 to 6 acres it will happen 4 to 6 times. Sometimes it starts on low power (only when hot).
I've checked/changed the fuel filter, gas cap, plugs, etc.

Any ideas?

Sounds like something with the carburetor. Maybe take the carburetor fuel bowl off and peek inside it and see if it's dirty. Check and make sure your float moves up and down freely.

Could be head gasket leaks too check your compression got and cold and compare them if all else they are not expensive and easy to change I use copper gasket maker on mine when installing

each one will have their favourite solution.
Most if these will be unique to a particular mower.
So unless you want to spend the rest of the season fixing problems the mower has not
Please supply the make model & sercial numbers of both the mower & the engine.
