Model Identification Problem

Working on a "very experienced" Yard Man 38"/12.5 HP B&S
The model on the tag under the seat is: 13AT674G401(the seat must be from another model MTD)

The tractor has a totally different deck belt/pulley arrangement than what is illustrated in the MTD website. This tractor has the cable activated
deck belt tightening method via a lever on the right side of the body next to the deck height adjustment lever

so.............is there another place to look on the tractor to locate the model number?

I need to order the spindles, blades, and the belt tightening pulley,

I appreciate the help,

Get the model type and code from the Briggs engine. Sometimes those numbers can be used to narrow down and reference a few models that was built that year

Yes seat is off another mower as it is off a 42" cut mower. What year is the engine? hoping it is the original engine.

13AT674G401 Yard-Man Lawn Tractor (1997)

F = 38
G = 42
H = 46

The engine info is: Model 28N707-(Code) 0160-01 s/n 9407184B

That should make it either 134N604F401 [1994] or 135N604F401 [1995]; provided no other mods done.

Engine has been replaced also. Only 38 inch deck made in 1994 or 1995 had a flat head 28m707 engine.

I looked again... The mower body says 38"/12.5 HP B&S.....the engine is 15.5 HP OHV B&S....I got me a real "Frankenstein"

So I'm now thinking this Frankenstein has a different deck underneath it. Is there a method to identify a deck from another mower?
This deck has a cable tightening belt method with a single 4-5" od pulley.

You just got lucky0

Now that will put it as a 2005-06 Walmart sold mower with a 38" deck. So someone has put an older engine on it.

I appreciate the help..........this old dog has seen a bunch of grass since then for sure. I am giving it a second life do over for a retired law enforcement friend. bartles

Try lookig up Model 944.607232 it should have all the part numbers you need

Husqvarna parts does not fit a MTD mower.

My spindle wasn't exactly the right type but the bolt holes lined up, and I swapped out one spindle shaft with an original because the blade had a different star pattern. AYP Chinese spindles. Saved heaps of money replacing them myself. If you knock a shaft out leave the nut on so as not to wreck the thread.
