Need some help. I have an older 928 cub cadet with an Onan engine. A friend stated it wouldnt run, so they pushed it off the trailer and after a tune-up, the engine runs great. The problem I am having is now that it is running, I cant get it to move. I cannot find any Bolts or levels of any type to engage the pump so it will move. My Friend had stated that prior to the engine not cranking, the mower worked great! Any help anyone can provide would be GREATLY Appreciated.

Thank You,
Danny

WELCOME to LMF...
Hello Danny... Can't find that model CC... a 928 comes up as a snow blower... not a Mower.... :smile:KennyV

Hey Kenny and Thanks for replying. I dont know what to do. The model and S/N stickers are no where to be found. The only Identifying stickers are on the hood. International, Cub Cadet 928. I will try looking again tomorrow and if I find anything else, I will post it.

Thanks Again,
Danny

you should have a 982 if it has an Onan engine. Prior to 1976 there was a lever on the left hand side of the frame between your legs that you pull up to release hydro. 1976 and later has got an automatic release valve that opens when start to push tractor actually there are 2 of them side by side on top of hydro pump. They are supposed to close when you start tractor and pressure builds. If they are stuck you will have to screw them out hold upside down bang them on a vise or anvil to jar a spring loaded ball to unstick in valve. You could also have a bad charge pump I have seen many of them go bad, you would to remove it to check it. I assume you are sure drive shaft is turning pump and you don't have a sheered pin in it.
