This mower model 917.252512 serial number 083095A -6598 has this symptom no crank.
1. all safety devices or cut off switches have been removed all that is left is battery, solenoid, switch, fuel cutoff on carb and starter.
2. Power from battery to new solenoid replaced yesterday.
3. DVOM checked current in current out with switch engaged.
4. I don't like being a part changer how do I check the switch or can I jump the switch to verify poor switch?
5. Starter is good removed from mower benched checked it engaged and worked even replaced with a known good starter and nothing.
6.Power to fuel shut off and it clicks replaced month ago it has 12V supplied with key on.
WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG SIMPLE WIRING WORKED LIKE A CHAMP YESTERDAY PARKED IT AND NOTHING TODAY. Yes I did tow it to the barn one day last week parked it and it fired up and way we go today nothing what EVER WAS THE INTERMITTEN PROBLEM NOW IT IS A PROBLEM.
A second set of eyes always helps I must be overlooking something simple but what is it?
Thanks Charlie

Use a ohm meter to check the switch.

Use a ohm meter to check the switch.

It has one pin on top and 4 below Suggestion how to check pins or which pins should have power when engaged or is there a way to check by by passing switch.
DVOM in my friend

You can check the Starter solenoid And starter by using a small wire jumper at the starter solenoid... Momentarily jump from the large terminal (cable from the Positive battery post) to the Small terminal (wire from key switch, start position).

MOST pto clutch switches have the starter circuit passing through 1/2 of the pto switch... So while holding the key switch to start, push & pull the pto switch...
And with your Cub Cadet Model, it's possable to find the wiring diagram... that will let you wring out the switch using your DVOM...

Thanks Kenny I went and purchased a new solenoid replaced and turned the key and nothing.
I'm ready to pull wires and start over.
Is their a simple wiring schematic way to wire this craftsman rider to run?
Thanks in advance

There are inherent problems with replacing parts that do Not need to be replaced...
You may have removed a good part only to put a bad new part on...
You could have put the wrong part on... a few electrical components Look the same but do not wire up the same...
You can introduce a new problem in the wiring or associated hardware...
You 'May' have multiple problems plus any one of the above...
Did you check the old starter solenoid before you replaced it? was it in fact bad?
