Mo-Deck

Was at T.S.C. last week and saw this product by the name of Mo-Deck,it comes in an aersol can and you spray it on the underside of your mower deck.It builds up with multiple coatings.I sprayed 1 coat on my G.H. deck yesterday and it really slicked it up.I sprayed another coat today,the can said 15min drying time but it was somewhat cool today so it hadn't dried when I finished working.It also says to apply to the blades which I plan to do tomorrow.anybody else seen or used this stuff? russ

Never heard of it, they say apply to the blades? Be kinda hard to do unless you take them off...let us know how it works.

Haven't used it myself, but all of this kind of thing probably works best on new paint (powder coat).

I would think that anything that helps release clippings would be a benefit if you have a problem with build up pn your deck.

I took all the pait off under the deck and applied a rust inhabiator I also bought at T.S.C. This stuff is brush on and kinda pricey at $17.00 a bottle.It brushes on white and then turns black after bonding to the metal,then I sprayed the Mo-Deck on.It def. "feels"slick.Will see. russ

That rust converter works GREAT - absolutely GREAT!!!! I use it all the time - and anything I have treated with it has NEVER re-rusted in that area. One thing, though: It isn't a self-etching deal that bonds well to good metal. Unless it's changed, the stuff that turns black converts rust chemically into that purplish-black rock-hard stuff that's almost as good as unrusted metal. It's primed when it converts, but it wouldn't change color for me on unrusted metal, and I considered the surface untreated, and used a self-etching primer (rustoleum makes one - bare metal primer they call it).

thats right Twall,this brush on stuff even says to leave the rust on and it does set up rock solid almost glassy.I tried some spray on stuff at first but like this brushable stuff better.I'm getting my Grasshopper all degreased and ready to mow.the grass is greenen up so it won't be long! russ
