Missing magnet.

My engine flywheel has been clicking so I took the flywheel off and noticed a magnet was broken in half and off the flywheel. Will that missing magnet damage the alternator. It's off the alternator not ignition. It always charged the battery and still is charging.

Absolutely yes, replace stator/alternator and check this out: 13 hp 130 ohv tecumseh
