Good afternoon. I was hesitant to post here because of how little I know about small engines, so please bear with me. I am currently in the process of refurbishing a Struck MD-40 Mini-Dozer from the early 60s, but have decided to bite the bullet and perform an engine swap, as the original engine is in extremely bad shape. I have decided to swap to a lightly-used GC160 exclusively because it's what I have lying around.
The problem I am having is, the MD-40 requires manual throttle to operate, and the GC160, to my untrained eye, appears not to support such an operation. I recently purchased this carb from Amazon because it appears to have an independent linkage for throttle, but have a sinking feeling it will have the same problem. What is the easiest way to configure a GC160 engine to operate via manual throttle?
