I recently have bought an old Murray ride on Mower, Type 8/30. The main drive belt is too strong, so it is impossible to disconnect the tranny from the driveline properly. Does anyone know the size of the drive belt?
1/4" x 40,5" ? Is that right?? I have attached a pic, hopefully it works.
Thanks for the offer, but there is not a dealer around here for the Murray. I have to go to a industrial supplier, where I can get a belt for half the price they ask for it at a small engines repair shop. But therefore I need the size.
Ok...I have the mower stored out, so no modelnr. at the moment. But I will got there and write it down. What means 37 x 110 ? I have some probs by converting inch into cm, but it canエt be 37 " to 110 ".
Never understood Murry's numbering system. Do know that Gates belts do work well on Murrays. Go to an auto supply store and have then cross that number.
I'll cross the belt to a metric size tomorrow at work and post back tomorrow night if I can remember to do so. Sorry I didn't see you were from Germany.

The Murray belt you gave me 37 X 110 has an English Size of 1/2" by 43 7/8" If my conversion is correct that would be 17.7 cm X 1114.425 cm. I hope this helps you.
I think I found our problem. I used 25.4 cm = 1 in, when I should have used 2.54 cm.
With that mistake solved a 1/2" X 43 7/8" belt would equal 1.27 cm X 111.44 cm. Do you have any belt sizes close to that? Sorry about my mistake and bad information.
