M127370 extension spring

never done one but I used to keep a piece of bicycle brake cable around to pull unusual springs. Hook one end then grab the brake cable doubled back on itself around the other end with a pair of vise grips and pull
 
this is for a 2001 445 john deere, it holds a flat plate against a switch at the rear end. Its part of the petal to make it move forward. It will not start if spring is not in place.
have it zip tied now to work. Cant find diagrams anywhere or videos on how to fix
 
Once you find the mounting point it is just a matter the right spring tool. Now this reverse lever that the spring is attached to was an option that JD added to some of the 445 is not covered by the service manual. Good news is this spring has a fairly light spring rate of less than 8 in/lbs.

Just look carefully for a potential mounting point.
