Hi there. I have a LX173 John Deere and while operating it yesterday the belt somehow caught the wire that runs to PTO and ripped it out. There is not enough wire to get a splice on there and I'm stuck at buying a new PTO. Does the PTO have some kind of switch that can be removed where the wires go into it or am I stuck at buying a new PTO? I tried to pull out where the wires come out but it appears to be attached to the PTO.

Thanks

Sorry, you will have to replace the clutch.

20140525_172909.jpgThanks. I bought a new one and installed it. The blades work now, but there seems to be excess wire hanging. Perhaps I did not bring the wire that came from the PTO correctly around the clutch housing. I do not want to get it caught in the blade again. Anybody have any pictures on how thier PTO clutch is hooked up?

Thanks, Eric

I don't like having the wire tucked up tight, but if it works for you, go for it.
