I’ve got a John Deere LX 279 with a Kawasaki FD501 engine.I had trouble with the starter motor,it would click several times and then start. It gradually got worse and I replaced it.Now it turns over but won’t fire.I replaced the igniter but still won’t fire. It’s getting fuel, plenty of charge on the battery,I put a tester on the plugs and they are sparking. What could be the problem.?
I’m not a mechanic but I’m handy and the mower has done a lot of work over the years but has been well looked after.
Cheers
Justin

Try dumping(squirting) a little fuel in each cylinder then try starting. It may be a carburetor problem like the fuel solenoid not working.

Hmmm, Maybe by removing the spark plugs.
