New belt & new bed bolts and lock nut, but will mow for short time before one Idler pulley spins off, belt comes off and blades stop. I cannot seem to tighten lock but enough to keep it from somehow coming off and then pulley spins off so hot it smokes. Any ideas on a fix? Thanks!

replace idler pulley, bad bearing.

Yeah, what StarTech said. That idler pulley should spin freely if it is getting hot and actually causing the nut to back off the bolt then it needs to be replaced. I have seen videos where guys have just replaced the bearing if the pulley was still in good shape but I’ve never tried that myself.

Also check that the bolt is only clamping on the inner race
Common problem is putting on a washer that is too big
