13WX91AT056 ICO52HL0336 03/2012 blows the fuse the moment you turn the switch on. Any ideas what would cause this. Kohler SV600-3225 engine.

Hello H.

Worn seat switch wiring is a real possibility. Also, I have had to replace many ignition switches for internal contact failures like this. Make sure to look up the switch by your model number and verify the pin locations are identical.

Parts Tree or Jack's small engine are usually good parts sources. I do not recommend Amazon because they are an international dumping ground for many of the parts they advertise.

Make sure to inspect all of the wiring harness for any chafing on brackets or possibly getting pinched.

Found the problem, when someone had the blower housing off they pinched the wire to the fuel solenoid between the housing and the top of the block. Got it all fixed and running. After I had to clean the carb. Still needs a lot of work on the deck. Needs bearing idlers belt and blades. Motion belt and idler. Idler arm bracket on the deck was frozen up as well. Has anyone ever used the automotive circuit breaker fuses. I use to have some but could not find them. Sure, beats blowing fuses to find the problem. Thanks to everyone for your input.

Hello H.,

The reset style fuse fit circuit breakers are great for troubleshooting but not meant for use as a fuse replacement. They do not tolerate vibration or any prolonged exposure to the environment. I tried to use them years ago and they popped regularly. Aside from that, they are expensive.

Instead, what I like to use, and I suggest you try are self-resetting thermal circuit breakers. I usually grab them off of older salvage vehicles that have the power window and A/C options. Automotive used 3 styles. One design had threaded studs; another was a plug in replacement for glass fuse designs; another for ATC style fuses that began in the 80's. I also do not recommend these for permanent use because they are not weather sealed.
