LT4000 hard steering

Have a LT4000 runs and cuts great, but the steering has become very hard to steer. I checked the rack everything looks fine no wear. I lubed everything with no noticeable difference. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

if you jack the front end off the ground, does it get easier to steer?

Well some take offense to the simplest of questions.

Grease is not a cure all just like duct tape don't fix everything.

It is a valid question as even low tires can cause steering problems but on a early 90's model it is likely bushings (bearings) are worn out causing one or both spindles to bind.

But I better step out of this thread as I like to not have my head bit off.

Reason I ask is because i had a guy with cub cadet with the plastic front wheel bushings, they were wore all to heck and the spindle was sitting on the bottom of the bushing, instead of being supported all the way around, hard steering... There was minor wear on the spindle which surpised me as i was expecting it to be D shaped instead of O.. New bushings and he was good to go. Same as on my SRX75 rider a few weeks ago. front wheel bearings (ball bearings) were plumb wore out, hard steering, replaced them and it steers like a dream.
