I need help in replacing the traction drive belt in my LT150

Oh I know that is one of the fun jobs to replace that belt, I sure hope the OP enjoys changing that belt. I know the last one I changed I just might of thought of some four letter words to bless that job with.

The photos shown in the excellent instructions have the mower deck removed. No doubt it would be easier without the deck, but is it possible to be done with the deck still in place?:smile:

I've not replaced one of those belts but have others and yes it's probably possible without removing the deck but I do recommend removing it. Removing and installing the deck will be the easiest part of the job if you take note where the clips and pins came from and the order of dis-assembly so you can reverse that order to install.

Removing will make you well acquainted with your tractor and you can inspect bearing noise, belt condition, blades etc. and do a thorough cleaning while it's off.

If you can change that belt without removing the deck GOD BLESS YOU, because you will need it.

Besides removing the deck an item that would make that job much easier is a lift where the front wheels could be raised until the tractor was on a 45° incline or even more.
