I've got a Cub Cadet 2165 tractor (136-268-100) with the BDU-10 trans and about 1000 hrs. Over the years, the hydro dipstick started loosing friction, so I wrapped a bit of electrical tape around it. That worked well for many years, but I'm in the process of changing the fluid and filter and when I pulled the dipstick, the tape almost fell into the case.
The part (#927-3085) has been discontinued and I can only find them at no-name mystery sellers. I was just going to de-grease it and put new tape on, but was wondering if there's a better,safer fix.
