Looking to purchase a new husqvarna

I'm not familiar with hydrostatic mowers but have benn looking at the TS 254XG mower. Are these transmissions pretty reliable? I have a 2006 GT2254 mower that has performed great with no motor or transmission issues. Also concerned that this new mower is listed as discontinued.

Are there equivalent alternatives in the John Deere or Cub Cadet line? Would you still buy a discontinued model mower?

If you can afford it go with TS 354XGD, it has a K66 transmission with locking drives, for the long haul it would be better than the 254 which probably has K46.
