Looking for engine dimensions

Anyone have a link to a diagram of the dimensions of where the bolt holes are for a Briggs 281707?
I'm playing and would like to know where to drill holes vs eyeballing it.
TIA.

Can you just measure if you have the motor?

Go to this page , click on your engine series then scroll to the bottom of the page to find a dimensioned drawing of the engine

Being the bottom of the engine is not flat, I know I would have a template that is off thus drill in the wrong places.

I looked there already. Mine is not there but there is a 14hp so I guess it should be the same. Thx.

Side valves & OHV engines have different bolt mounting patterns.
Singles & V twins have different bolt mounting patterns .
MTD , Murray , Noma ( others probably ) use a removable engine mounting plate
so if worse comes to worse you can get one of those from a mower wrecker
I might have one in the graveyard I will have a look latter today.
AFAIK all B&S ride on SV engines have the same mounting centres regardless of their stroke .

Templates can easily be cut with cardboard and mounted to motor for reassurance it fits before placed

Apart from the crankshaft & oil seal housing the bottom is flat as it has to sit on a flat plate
So cut a 4" hole in the middle and you can use a corn flake packet to make a template .
