guessing its from the 80's told it has a new trans & battery- 48" cut-deck is not original- seat looks newer- owner said it is a troy bilt and needs blades.

Any clue what year it is or exactly what it is? Owner said it has a briggs and standard shift with electric start.

looking to possible check it out tomorrow -- thinking it would be a fun winter project to strip & paint some weird bright color and have for next summer .

WELCOME to LMF...
For an (over 20 years old) mower of that type ... it sure looks to be in great condition... It should make for a fun little tractor... it looks a bit like a Murry a friend of mine had years ago.:smile:KennyV

Well I bought it today- still no clue what it is- even the local mower shop has no clue & their is no decals, on the body or engine. It is a 16 hp briggs twin thats the original & 5 speed trans - seat & seat frame is not the original and deck is actually a 46" and its too clean for this area to be the original.

original color was a bright blue but the frame is a silver blue and that looks to be original paint. original steering wheel center says lowes

it starts right up .

i am starting to tear down body- do some maintence on it and its being painted bright orange with a black frame & wheels-should be ready in a few weeks

Here you go. It is an MTD model #136-648-062 built for lowes stores in 1986 - 1995.
Yours appears to be an 86 or 87. Most parts are still available. Have fun with it!
