Let me see if I’ve got this right. You have a Briggs engine, because you posted this in the Briggs section of this forum. Am I right? You have some sort of ride on unit, because you say you have a transmission and a brake. Am I right? You have a linkage which goes from one side of the transmission to the other side. Am I right? With all this information no one is going to help you, but yourself. If you want to help yourself please give us information that would help us help you. If you can’t do so there is very little we can do. Please take the time to find and answer the following questions. Yes, I know this will mean you will have to do some work, but the ball will be in your court if you really want us to help you. Seeing that you are talking about a transmission, I’ll not be asking questions about the engine, steering or attachments.

2. What is the model and serial numbers for your equipment?
3. How did you come upon your problem?
4. Have you down any work on this unit recently?
5. Have you had any other problems with this unit in the past?
6. Do you have the mechanical expertise to repair units of this kind?
