Anyone else feel like a leaf blower for lawn care is kind of overrated? I mean, I get that they clear off driveways and patios, but half the time it feels like I’m just moving the mess around until it lands somewhere else. I was thinking of picking one up one of these Novorik leaf blower for the yard, but not sure if I should just stick with a rake. Does a blower actually make lawn care easier in the long run, or is it just noisy yard clutter?
Thanks

Use a rake and a broom for a few months and get back with us.

Sometime years ago I parked my mower and hired the lawn done. Those guys really loved their blowers. That's when I started getting bare spots in the lawn. At least it seemed that way to me. Then they quit, and I started doing it again. I was eventually given a blower. I use it just to clean the top of the mower deck. The mower mulches the leaves.

Overrated? Not for me. I maintain a little over two acres with many mature trees, including gums and beech trees. I use a variety of blowers to blow leaves, limb debris, gum balls, yada off the lawn areas into the surrounding woods or an open field. I use a battery-powered blower for the little jobs like cleaning off the porch and deck, and blowing leaves out of the garage and my shop. For the lawns, I use a gas-powered, hand-held Stihl, a gas-powered Stihl backpack blower, and a walk-behind blower with a 9hp Honda engine. I also have a blower extension for the Stihl handheld that I use to blow leaves off of the gutter screens - it makes a quick job of doing this task.

Ed, I have an acre of sweet gum balls each fall you are more than welcome to them. If you want or need them. Won't charge you a dime for them.

I clear 1 acre with a big Toro electric blower. Yea the cord is a pain but..... First off you have to work with the wind, not against it. Then pick them up with my tractor vacuum rack.
