B bwright1818 Active Member Jul 27, 2015 #3 I usually tie the pulley knot, install the rope on the pulley and wind until the pulley is full. Then I make the final cut to length, that way. 7' might end up a little long but it's a great place to start, if you're looking for an amount to buy.
