Hey Guys,

I hope that you can help me. My 10 plus year old Silver Pro Series Model only has one drive wheel working. It is the one on the left side nearest the drive pulley that is failing. I tried greasing everything and I pulled the wheel off and greased the through bolt / axle.

Any ideas what could be causing the failure?

Can the rear drive transmission be rebuilt or should it be replaced.....is it even still available?

I love this mower....it is so light compared to others I have had and I have a huge 30 degree hill in my front yard.....that does it's toll on 4 cycles.

Thanks in advance for any input you can provide.

If your right wheel does not turn, see if the trasmission out put shaft is turning. If it does, this eliminates the gearbox which is built like a tank, but it could get sticky and the lube could get hard in time. get a diagram for it and the wheel axle parts.

Next, check out the right axle gear assembly for movement by removing the wheel and cover. There is a grease fitting and all you need is two pumps.Items 11,12,13 and 14 must move freely. These are the friction rings, rocking key, gear, thrust washer which must be installed in only one direction, spring and snap type clip washer.

Good luck!
