is the trans. on an 8480 very durable?This one has the push n go system and wont disengage.The cable is froze up and at 58.00 I am looking for a less exspensive alternative.Can I adapt a different cable such as a 683574 or should I replace the drive system altogether with a new trans and cable?My main question is there a way to check the trans. without having to buy the cable.

ive seen the pullys seize up i think theres 3 if i remember right
