Larger Deck?

I have an older Craftsman model 917252561 with a 42" deck. My hubby seems to think he can swap on a larger deck since it has a 19hp engine. He bases this on the fact that the mounting system seems the same as newer mowers that have the larger decks. I would like this, but he can't seem to find any information to confirm his assumption.

Can anyone shed any light on this for us? A newer mower is out of our budget, but this one is well maintained and I would love to cut my mowing time down.

There is rational thinking by your husband, just look at the husquvana decks, they will fit under any craftsman.. they own craftsmans ayp..
