Lack of air filter

I took the air filter off of my 7 hp B&S lawn mower about a month ago. It was dirty and prevented starting. I have not replaced it yet but have used the mower for 2 or 3 hours total with no filter. Today the engine sputtered and died and would not restart (still no air filter). Did I already ruin my engine? :frown: Is it too late to clean the carborator and put a new filter on?

No, you have nothing to lose. Clean carb, replace plug and filter, see what happens.

Could'nt have done that much damage in two or three hour's, do the things on the above post.

Not unless you ran it in a dust storm and maybe ran it more then 2 to 3 hours?
