Kohler push mower starts fine the first time

Kohler push mower starts fine the first time of day, cut grass turn off empty bag and then will not start. New plug. The mower is a fairly new, it is an Ariens Courage XT-6. It just wont start once it is hot.

Take A/F off. See if choke is wide open when the engine is warmed up. If not then that's your problem. Next the thing to check would be the tank vent. Take fuel cap off wait a sec and then try to fire up. If not then the coil is your problem. Check for spark.
 
This past weekend when I encountered the problem due to the fact I needed to get the lawn mowed I used ether to get started I just didnt turn off until done. Once it was started it would run. Obviously I don't want to use ether every time I need to start. I assume that means I have spark. It idles funny once running (high then low RPM). I assume the choke is automatic.
 
The ether rules out a spark problem. Most likely either a dirty jet in the carb, or the choke isn't working properly.
