Kohler CV16s Mechanical fuel pump replacement

I am replacing the mechanical fuel pump on my Kohler CV16S on a regent Simplicity mower. The fuel pump number is a 12-559-02S and in the kit it has a snap ring that is I suppose to help with the installation of the fuel pump. Can anyone help me on how the installation is done any photos or illustrations would be nice with descriptions if available. I am wanting to keep this in the original state. The model of the Kohler is 43510. I could not find any links for this application on you tube. Thank you for any help you can provide. email jumpingjoeusa@yahoo.com

Don't really know what snap ring you are talking about, most pump kits come with installation instructions. Maybe this link will help you.

The snap ring is meant to be used as a tool. The two edges of the snap ring are arranged to press inward on the pump.
This allows insertion of the proper inlet type to match your application.
