kohler crankcase crack

have the following kohler courage 20hp engine sv600-0024 that has a crack in the upper crankcase due to bolts coming loose to top end of engine, looking for any suggestions to make repairs, mower belongs to 80 year old lady so she does not want to replace the crankcase due to cost and her age. so looking for something that may work for a few years, also bolts are tight there is also leak from a small section of the gasket, will jb weld work and should it be used on the gasket area. thanks in advance
