Kohler Courage engine starts for 10 seconds and then dies.

I have a Troy Bilt Bronco mower with a Kohler Courage 20 engine. It sat for 4 years. I have changed the carburetor, fuel filter and spark plug. It has new gas. It will start but only run for 5-10 seconds before it dies. Any ideas on other things to check.

I would start by getting the red in line spark testers and fitting them to work out if it is a fuel or ignition problem
If the tester flashes but the engine is not firing then it is a fuel related problem
If no flashes then it will be an ignition problem.
Do that report back & we will be happy to guide you through a number of other tests to properly diagnose your problem
Otherwise every one will chime in with their favourite pet problem & have you chasing your tail for weeks damaging / replacing perfectly good parts & getting no where .

If it runs for a few seconds, I would suspect fuel starvation. Disconnect line at pump/filter and after removing the cap blow backwards thru the fuel line.
Do not stand near the fuel tank! See if the Float bowl is filling.
