Doe;s anyone know the kit # that i need to order for my kohler engine SPEC # PS-ZT740-3017 SERIAL#4409137813,

I believe that is a Confidant engine and does not use the old DSAI or DSAM type ignition system that needs changed to MDI. Do you have 1 or 2 wires going to the coils? What is the reason for the conversion?

If you have either the 32 584 07-S or 32 584 09-S ignition then you will need to replace both coils with the 32 584 25-S parts.

My ZT740 confidant engine has three wires to each coil. The problem i'm having is that intermitantly the engine drops one cylinder. After a short stop and pause both cylinders become active again.

Strange the service manual doesn't reference the three wire type. Just the single kill terminal type with the 09-S and 25-S are. What is the part number on the current coils? To upgrade from the three wire type you need to find which wire is the kill wire and disconnect the other two.

White wire...also need to loop the red wire for plunger switch on carb. You can ground the green to motor if you would like, not a must. 25 707 03-S this would be your correct kohler number that replaces all others
