I have a 15.5 HP kohler and I have done many things to this engine and have narrowed it down to the carb iv cleaned it multiple times and rebuilt it. So I think it is the fuel selenoid. Someone told me I can either clip the needle off or put a bolt in it like the normal ones. Will this work.

All the solenoid does is block off the main jet when you turn the key off. When you turn the key to the on position you should hear a click. That means that the solenoid is coming down from blocking the main jet. If you don't hear it or feel it click when you put your hand on it when you turn the key then it's not coming down and you won't get gas through the main jet! So yes whatever you do to bypass it will work. If you replace it with a bolt make sure you have the gasket too!
