Know How to get Repair Advice?

I posted nine days ago trying to get specific advice on repair of a Kawasaki engine and got a single reply telling me to check the manual and a YouTube clip, both of which I had already looked at many times before. http://www.lawnmowerforum.com/showthread.php/38837-Kawasaki-FB460V-Running-Rich-and-Rough?p=243585#post243585

Maybe this engine is too old and there are few people around with experience with it, or just not interested, or maybe I posted in the wrong place. Any suggestions where to post to get a better response on this or other websites?

You go back to the original post and reply that you are still having problems
If you have nothing to add hit the "more" button under the smilies and select the "anyone".
This bumps your thread back into the " new posts " .
Most people sadly never provide any feedback so we never know if the problem is resolved.
So if you were given advice and there was no further posts we would assume your problems was solved.

Thanks Bert, I'll try that. I did answer the one reply I got, noting that I needed something beyond what's in the manual, but still got nothing more.

Once a week would be considered polite any more and it gets people agro, the techs who inhabit the site do so for free so it is a case of "good things comes to he who waits"

Nothing jumps out at me but I will have a reread tonight .
The only thing suspect is the idle screw which should stall out the motor around 1/2 turn in either direction so the pilot circuit in the carb is blocked.
However that usually causes the engine to run lean, unless it is an air passage which is something fairly well unique to Amal carbs.
