Our seven month old tabby is getting to be a headache, we have cat towers everyplace but he prefers to stretch and scratch the corners of our oak cabinets and furniture instead...I have a lot of left over foam insulation tubes from insulating copper water lines, used scotch tape folded into a loop to fasten several half-inch tubes to the corners of the furniture. When he tries to scratch, usually the tube comes down and startles him...after only two days he is avoiding the corners. Cheap, fast, and safe for cats of all ages....:laughing:

I can see that working... but my cat would have been done with just the tape... he hates tape sticking to his feet... try the 2 inch wide packing clear tape looped inside out, my cat will stay way clear of it...

BUT he likes it if I use the same stuff to remove loose hair from his coat... cats... :smile:KennyV
