Hi there,
First time, new member here
I'm having some issues with a leaking float bowl gasket on the Kawasaki fr730v engine on my older Husqvarna rz4824f. Problem is, my model sticker on the Kawi engine is missing. Just bought this thing used last fall. Apparently there is a ton of different versions of this engine and without a more specific model number, i can't make sure I'm getting the right parts... already got one that was the wrong size. Called Husqvarna US, whom up to this point have bee friendly but otherwise pretty useless. Kawasaki likewise. Product number of mower is 967003801 00 serial number 021512c001538
Any help or tips welcomed!
Thanks
When I got my first Kawasaki engine, I took pictures of those stickers.
Now I can't find the pictures.
Lucky for me, the stickers are still on the engine, so I can take them again. But they won't be there forever unless this engine doesn't last very long.
Stickers in lieu of engraved or stamped ID numbers is a BAD idea.
Thanks for the link! The manual doesn’t specify which version of the fr730v it is, which is the information I need. It did, however, say that there should be a number stamped on the valve cover. I will look for that next and I’ll let you know if that’s the case
The reason that there is only 1 manual is all of the FR 730 engines are basically the same.
Any critical differences will be outlined in the manual as you read through it.
The different numbers reffer to subtle differences like the type of air filter, the size of the alternator weather it has electric or pull start or both, weather it has a single throttle/choke cable or one of each.
The only big difference is the crankshaft and there are a few of them but any one of them will work in any engine.
Instead of chasing your tail all over the web, take your float down down to a mower repair shop and by preference a real repair shop not a glass front retail outlet.
We ( I am an independent workshop) have to deal with this every day of the week and usually can identify most of these by sight.
Other than that, pop it on some squared graph paper and take a photo dead square on and see if some one here recognizes it.
Have you downloaded the Husqvarna IPL for your mower .
Usually they have a part number for the carb rebuild kit.
Briggs & Stratton is the only manufacturer to reliably stamp numbers on their valve covers.
By your machine serial number, Husqvarna should have been able to give you the type numbers of your Kawasaki FR730V.
The parts manual for your machine doesn't show any engine related parts or numbers.
