The bolt that holds the PTO clutch on my 2015 Cub Cadet XT2 LX50 snapped, leaving about half an inch of the bolt inside the crankshaft and stripping the threads. Should I try tapping the piece out and re-tapping the shaft or just replacing the crankshaft? Is it worth the cost and effort, mower has about 300 hours.

Thanks-

Those bolts, if it is original, have Loctite on them too.....so the piece up in there is Loctited in!

Ouch, I'd have to try & drill & tap it first. Never know.

Am not seeing lock tight on many mowers anymore. If you can drill a hole in the bold and get it started in the center of the bolt. You might be able to get a left handed drill bit and when it grabs like they do at times just it might spin the bolt right out.
