Kawasaki FD440V steel camshaft

I’m looking for a steel camshaft for my Kawasaki FD440V. Deere tells me Kawasaki stoped providing these four years ago. The number is 12044-2247. Does anyone have one they can sell me? Will another cam that is in production work?

According to the service manual for the FD440, FD501, and FD590, the o.d. measurements for the ends of the cam for the 440 and 501 are the same as is the lobe diameter. All measurements for the 590 are larger. The only unknown is the lengths for both camshafts.
It seems to me that the cam for the FD501 (12044-2248) could work to replace the 12044-2247 cam in the FD440. Is this correct?
