I replaced the carburetor and at least it will start. It doesn't get full rpm, only around 3150 to 3300. It seems to me it used to be around 3700 rpm.
It barely has enough to start the PTO. It will run the it a few seconds with the PTO engaged and the choke on full or 7/8 . It dies but will restart.
Any new suggestions? It seems it not getting enough gas, right? Or is it a another bad carburetor?

Do you have a digital tachometer that is determining your engine speed. 3600 RPM is maximum for a small engine, however, many of the newer engines are set up to run 3150-3300 RPM. If you have to run engine on full choke or close to full choke, then the carburetor you ordered is wrong. You are manipulating the air/fuel mixture by running it on choke.

Thank you. Yes I have a digital tach.

Make sure the engine is running on both cylinders.

Ordered new carb, it starts but still dies after about 5 or 10 mins but does restart. It runs for a short period. It will run a long time with no load or PTO but under load it only runs a short time.
How do I correctly adjust the carburetor. I have already removed the he black caps so it can be adjusted but can not find exactly what these screens do or what they do each! Which is high speed or idle?
