Anyone have a good source for the engine guard plastic rivets. I need all 3 for FR691V. Amazon was expensive. I found MTD online carries them at a resonable price and shipping, but I never dealt with them...thanks.

Your local dealer should have some at a reasonable price. If not then either JD or your local Honda ATV dealer should have them. All should be under $0.80 ea.

I did check my dealer who is also a JD dealer and they told me they didn't have any and would have to contact Kawasaki. I told them I'd get them. Some online sites are in the 70-80 cent range like you mentioned. Their just sites I've never dealth with. I am looking locally right now...thanks.

You can use universal plastic push pins, like on newer cars.. Ebay for plenty & cheap.

Yes they are common fasteners. I think the problem is an individual just needing three of them. And another problem is shipping cost are ridiculous nowadays.

I ended up finding a local Scag dealer that will order them and charge me 80 cents apiece. This saves me the shipping charges and having to enter a CC number on sites I've never dealth with. I was finding prices as high as $12 for one rivet (Amazon) and shiping of $10.99 (Kawasaki parts store) to ship 3 rivets...crazy. Is there a recommended way to pull these rivets? I use a plastic pry tool and after doing 3 engine cover removals to clean the engine, these rivets are shot. Or do they just need replacing after several pulls?

I use a pair pliers like these end snippers to lift up and pull pin, then the rest can easily being remove. Then insertion the reverse except you need the pliers to push the retaining pin back in. If you closely you see the two notches that the pliers fit in. Now of course these clip do become damage from heat of the engine and some times needs replacing just like those on ATV has to replaced after years of abuse.
