Just Won't Crank

Added gas, checked the oil, changed the spark-plug and it's just missing the "spark" seems like to turn over. When I pull the red-lever back, the pin is removed so that's not the issue.

I am very handy when it comes to repairs, I just don't know much of anything about small engines/lawnmowers.

Slip the top cover off the engine, locate the coil, check the gap between it and the magnets , should be about business card thickness and not touch.
Follow the thin black wire to where it goes into a plug which will usually be under the control plate and remove the wire.
Also check that this wire has no holes in the insulate where it could be earthing out.
Disconnect this wire reassemble the covers and check for a spark at the plug.
No spark = duff module and the whole thing will need to be replaced.
