Jonsred 70e

I just read the post on the different mounts. I picked up this saw it was going to be scraped. They had a Shil bar on it and it was very sloppy. I couldn't find much info. for this saw. So I tried a few other bars and finally found one that fit. It was an old Homelite bar. Can anyone tell me about this saw. I.E displacement I am guessing 70cc or close. And what bar mount it uses and where to find it. Any info. is appreciated. I don't know if I spelled the brand correctly but that is the model number. That brand always gets me with the spelling. As I dust of the cobwebs in my brian I may have found some info but I couldn't find the bar mount size from any of my online resources. I also have no idea how old the saw is. Guessing early 70's. The Homelite bar is a sprocket tip and cuts great. It will probably never need another bar. I gave it to a friends son that is in his 20' couldn't get it started he said. I started in 4 pulls or less. I cut with it for awhile yesterday plenty of power. Just to heavy for this old man but not to bad wouldn't use it all day.

I'm Thinking that 70 and 70e are the same mount wise.
Oregon's D096 and D196. with D196 more recommended. Also is Carlton 21 and Windsor HL.

this came up on the first Google link. In it, next to "Bar Mount Pattern" click the link and it will list all the part numbers from common suppliers. note: it is a 25:1 oil engine.

That D024 did come up under .058 bar but most the crosses are showing the D196. And OP said he got a Homelite bar to fit so I think he is needing 9.5mm slot as many Homelite saws using the standard 3/8 chain use the D196.

I will refer back to this when I get the mueasurements. I think it is the top one because who ever put the Sthil bat or it had to open up the adjuster holes a lot.Thank you Gentlemen! I think I look at a cross reference on Oregon web site and the 70e did not show up. But know that I have a size and measurement I should be all set.

That was a year ago. Getting old sucks. The saw cuts like a bear starts and idles beautifully. I don't think this 25 year young man wants a new Sthil. He didn't come out and way that but he said how much he liked my MS261c. He isn't mechanical in the least. He a cabinet installer for the most part and other carpentry for the most part. The saw has a chain break that is a lot in those days. I sent him a picture of a price tag on a 500i that took him down a notch. I will sell it I don't have any idea what it is worth. I live in Mass. so everything costs more. I would like your input on pricing it. I was thinking $100.00. I was thinking it was ported but I put it along side my MS460 and they are about even. So it still has good compression for an older saw. If any one know someone in Western MA that collects and they ran when I put them away 2 years ago. I have both 1953 walk behind real mower with a 2hp briggs. that was made in Springfield MA. And a chain saw not from the same company it had a 2 stroke Tecumseh motor on it. I could figure out the chain size I called Oregon and they told me it was 9/16. I look for some and Leon from house of Homelite had some he just sold the rest of the real. But he was getting crazy money for that. There is still enough tooth to file but I can barely lift it and I will get to it some day isn't working anymore. Too many other things to fix.
