before warming, runs on one cylinder, I open throttle to normal mowing speed during this time, after 10 minutes or so the non-fireing cylinder kicks in and it usually runs fine till I finsh mowing.

The first thing I would try is a new spark plug. It has to be something that once it gets warm it starts to fire. It should be a easy find seeing it misses when it's cold. Just do all your diagnosing when its cold, I would start with spark, compression, fuel, and then timing.

Hummmmm.First I would check dead side with a new plug in plug wire for firing. If it's not firing, check that coil and wiring to that coil.Check air gap too.If that plug is firing...hummmmm.....intake issues?
