If the lights go out at home you would check the fuse box
If the lights go out in your car you check the fuse box
But when the lights go out on your mower you change the battery then start changing everything else ?
Start with the fuse.
Then check you have a good ground.
then check the switch is getting a 12 V feed to the switch
